For your consideration is my beloved set of ENVE 65 carbon clinchers.
$800 obo
I am the 3rd, and longest, owner of these wheels, having purchased them in 2017. First two owners used them sparingly as race-only wheels. In my time they have been summer ridden only, and lovingly cared for by the pros at Trek Bikes Victoria with regular servicing/truing.
***As discussed in the condition disclaimer below, the front wheel needs to be rebuilt***
You are essentially getting a perfect rear wheel and a front project wheel with a great hub. I did consider the rebuild route myself, but after 6 happy years of ownership, it’s time for someone else to enjoy these fast as heck wheels.
Condition:
· Front wheel needs to be rebuilt. The carbon braking surface has developed a small lip (about 1” long - 3rd photo below) and is not recommended for further use (as assessed by Trek Bikes Victoria). ENVE no longer makes these rims in clincher (only tubular), so the options would be to source one privately (eg: eBay), or just order an off-label carbon clincher rim and have a shop rebuild with the existing hub – this is the most cost effective option.
· Rear wheel has lots of life remaining. Brake track is smooth. Freewheel shows some cassette bite marks, but these were present when I purchased the wheels in 2017 and I’ve had no issues.
Rims:
· 65mm front/rear rim brake (not disc compatible)
· Require 80mm tubes
Freehub:
· Shimano 11sp (may be able to swap out but would need to consult a bike shop)
Hubs:
· DT Swiss 240 front/rear
These wheels have been a regular presence on TS rides for many years, and it would be great to see them go to a fellow club member who is going to love them as much as I have.
